Fickle Turks

I was so excited to be asked to chaperon the annual ski trip.  Most people, teachers, would tell you that going on a school trip is almost always less than fun.  I, for whatever reason, don't mind going on this type of trip and I was looking forward to skiing with my students and showing them another side of myself.

I am not just the English teacher who bothers them to make the subject and verb agree.  I am also a talented skier who can help them have ore fun on the slopes (can anyone back me up here?).  However, today the official list of chaperons went out and I am not included in that list.

Who the hell did I piss off in the senior class this time?  Really.  These kids are so fickle that pissing them off one day will cause endless frustrations for the teacher.  Forget that they are the ones that called me at home in the middle of the night.  I was totally out of line for requesting an apology for that one.  I should take a note and make myself available to my students at all hours.

If giving up chaperoning a trip that will be filled with underage drinking and bullying is the price I pay for protecting my home life, I think that is an okay deal.  Entitled nitwits.  Some times you just can't muster the energy to teach the clueless.
