Success
One of the things I most need in the morning, when working, to get ready is my set of hot rollers. These were left in the states because they ran on 110 volts and Turkey uses 220 volt power. I have been looking everywhere for another set of rollers here. I looked in the Macy's-esque department store. Curling iron-yes, hot rollers- no. I have looked in the Fred Meyer-ish store and the Home Depot like stores. I even looked in the Costco of Turkey thinking it was my last hope.
Today I met success in a store that also sells washer and dryers along with refrigerators and air conditioners. Before I found my treasure, I was also looking in another washer/dryer/refrigerator/air conditioner store but this one also sold motor bikes and scooters. And I say motor bikes, not motorcycles, because these motor bikes have a set of petals that can be used if you run out of gas. I'd show you a picture, but this was the one time I did not have my camera!
I gotta share this with my new friend in Istanbul. Her name is Kendra and she married a Turkish man last year. He works as a "coiffure" (hair dresser) at one of the most expensive hotel salons in Istanbul. Kendra is a Texan blond and was sure my only hope of finding hot rollers was in Istanbul. She is not going to believe I found the only set in Tarsus.
