Blood Sacrifice

Sometimes it seems the universe is after a blood sacrifice: nothing less will suffice. This summer has been one of those trying times where everything seems to be careening towards disaster. One can only hope that “I will learn a good lesson” and come out smelling like roses in typical Johnson fashion.

“What,” you ask, “is the problem?”

Nothing. I have a wonderful life that just happens to include having a heart that doesn’t work like it should, and when it needs to NOT work (during surgery) it goes on its merry way like a conductor’s time piece—tick, tick, tickin’ away.

So now I’m waiting for the scar tissue to form so that the doctor can give it another go. This will be weeks away. Thankfully, this heart issue of mine normally only causes problems for people who are much older than I am, so I’ve got some time to figure things out.

What’s a girl to do in the mean time? I’ve started a blog.
